The date was 22nd September and the boxes were delivered. The book cover feels as silky as I remember my first book’s cover the moment I felt it. The colours are perfect, and Charlotte’s paintings for front and back covers look so beautiful. I couldn’t have been more thrilled with how the book looks and feels.

So now it’s on its way out into the world. I’ve got some pre-publication orders to fulfil, and my first author’s visit to a school is in the diary, one where I’m going to talk to all of KS2. It will be lovely to talk to a hall of children about Tamwary and about their writing.
If you bought a copy of What we have in common, you will know that all proceeds went to the charity, Parkinson’s UK. For My Name is Tamwary, all proceeds are going to be split between two charities, Shelter, and West Somerset Food Cupboard, which is my local food bank. There are connections in the book with both of these causes.
Please take a look at Charlotte’s website to see more of her images, and examples of projects she has worked on.
